Simulmondo

Antonio Farina was a very significant figure in the video game industry in Italy. In fact, Antonio was the founder of Simulmondo in 1987, this company represented one of the first companies specialized in the development and publication of video games in the 80s and 90s. Davide Pozza and Giuseppe Crugliano co-founded “Idea Software”, an Italian computer game production company in the 1980s. Their initiative played a significant role in the expansion of interactive entertainment with productions of titles such as the Commodore 64 , Amiga and Atari, helping to produce games across several categories, including adventures, role-playing games, shooters and flight simulators. In short, they have contributed to shaping Italy’s gaming landscape and promoting the evolution of interactive entertainment in the Italian sector over the years.

Among the best-known titles produced by Idea Software, there were games such as “Astro Blaster”, “Batman”, “Astri Kombat” and “Cavalleria”.

Giochi Preziosi, a well-known Italian company founded in 1978 mainly for the production and distribution of toys, has played an important role in the distribution of video games and products related to interactive entertainment thanks to its solid distribution network and its presence in multiple points of sale , in fact its presence has greatly facilitated access to videogame products in the Italian market, thus contributing to spreading interest in digital entertainment.

The Precious Games company had arcades as the main game of video game entertainment, with iconic titles such as Pong and Space invaders attracting players from all over the world.

Ubisoft Milan

Ubisoft Milan, the Italian studio of Ubisoft based in Milan, has played a leading role in the development of successful video games, such as participation in the “Just Dance” video game series. The game is dedicated to the genre of music and dance games, immediately achieving enormous international success. The popularity of Just Dance demonstrated how video games could be a means of entertainment accessible to a wide audience and helping to change the perception of video games and increase their acceptance in society.

Milestone S.r.l

Milestone Srl, an Italian development studio founded in 1966, specializing in racing games, has helped consolidate the Italian presence in the video game industry. One of Milestone’s most distinctive contributions is represented by the production of the “MotoGP” video game series, these titles focus more on motorcycle competitions, achieving international success and helping to promote the Italian brand in the driving games sector. In addition to MotoGP they have developed other racing games such as “Ride”, “MXGP”, “WRC” and other collaborations with car manufacturers.

Finally Milestone has gained fame thanks also to the technical excellence in its games, placing a fantastic realism in the driving dynamics.
