“Physical education can be linked to video games because for some games it is necessary to do physical movement in order to make the character move within the game, while many other games are “simulators” of sports that happen in reality which allow you to create scenarios never before existed or to identify with the career of an athlete.”
In many videogames its possible to play using your body
You can use your own body thanks to the invention of devices such as the Wii or Xbox consoles where it was possible to control the game through body movements using a simple remote control (as in the case of the Wii) or thanks to a camera that analyses, records and reproduces the movements made in the game (the Kinect).
Thanks to these types of games in which good motor coordination is required, it is possible to become much more coordinated and precise than normal, so that the movements made are translated correctly and immediately by the device and then reproduced in the game.
Videogames also train the mind
In February 2015, a Nature magazine published an article with studies on the human mind and artificial intelligence. Analyzing in detail the human being’s ability to learn and improve from their mistakes autonomously, during tests they made this “algorithm” play classic video games such as Pong, Donkey Kong and many other games from the 80s, achieving record scores which only professionals with a lot of experience would be able to achieve.
Furthermore, a study from the University of Owa has shown that video games keep the brain active and help you think outside the box, as well as being able to learn to make decisions in a very short time.
Videogames can simulate reality
There are several games that take sport as an example, one of the most famous is virtual football (Fifa, Pes.), in fact to replicate it you don’t need an expensive console, but even a low-quality smartphone or PC is enough. They are more than enough to manage a football team. Furthermore, with the invention of simulators which are capable of creating a virtual model of the car and its behavior it can be very useful for training real drivers, in fact all the teams in the major categories including Formula 1 use them to train their pilots. To recreate the behavior of the car, the simulator uses a seat that manages to convey with its movements the sensation of being on the selected track.
In recent years, video game tournaments and “eSports” have been spreading, i.e. virtual sports in which people compete to see who is better, both for teamwork and as an individual. In many cases it is also paid because as in all sports you put on a show and entertain the public with your skills.
Videogames are real sports
Many games require reflexes and good reaction time to achieve better and better results
Improving your reflexes and reaction time can be done with specific exercises, such as playing fast reaction games, doing hand-eye coordination exercises, or practicing games that require fast response times such as rhythm games. Additionally, having good overall physical condition and a focused mind can help improve reflexes and reaction time.
A good way to improve your reflexes within a video game is to play regularly with constant practice, increase the difficulty gradually, learn the maps etc… and have a good monitor (240 hz+).
